Ethics Requirement ends 12/31/08!

Have you fulfilled the mandatory Ethics requirement? 

Between January 1, 2005 and December 31, 2008, every REALTOR® is required to complete a minimum of 2 1/2 hours of Code of Ethics training. REALTORS® who have completed this training as a requirement of membership in another association are not required to complete additional ethics training until the next four year cycle. GSAR offers classroom ethics training throught the year.

New York's REALTORS lament missed opportunity in governor's budget proposal

Statement from New York State Association of REALTORS President Linda J. Page

Dec. 17, 2008: Today, New Yorks 62,000 REALTORS are united in their disappointment that Gov. David Patersons budget proposal did not take the opportunity to reign in out-of-control school spending by including the school property tax cap plan as proposed by the New York State Commission on Property Tax Relief. NYSAR urges Governor Paterson to amend his budget proposal to seek enactment of badly needed structural relief from rising property taxes.

Federal Court Approves DOJ-NAR Settlement

A federal court in Chicago last week approved the settlement agreement between the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® and the U.S. Department of Justice, ending antitrust charges against REALTORS®.

“This is a great day for real estate and for consumers. This compromise is terrific news for the industry and shows that the real estate industry is dynamic, entrepreneurial and fiercely competitive,” said NAR President Charles McMillan.

Conditions are ideal for buyers. Prices have moderated, interest rates are hovering near 40-year lows and the number of homes for sale is greater than it has been in 15 years. 

Current market conditions won’t last long. GSAR research shows that prices continue to increase in the Syracuse market on an average of 6% annually.

Anthony Diruzzo earns REALTOR Emeritus

Liverpool REALTOR Anthony J. Diruzzo earns REALTOR Emeritus designation

Albany – September 22, 2008 – The New York State Association of REALTORS (NYSAR) honored Liverpool REALTOR Anthony J. Diruzzo at its Fall Business Meetings for earning the REALTOR Emeritus designation. The designation is bestowed upon members of the National Association of REALTORS with 40 or more consecutive years in the real estate business.
