I. ETHICS DIVISION: Reporting Director, Don Radke

A. GRIEVANCE COMMITTEE

It shall be the duty of this Committee, as outlined in Article VII of the Bylaws, to investigate the actions of any member when charged, if there is reason to believe that such member has engaged in unethical conduct. This Committee shall also investigate business disputes between members. This Committee shall consist of at least three persons of whom at least the majority shall be active members who are principals in their business. Members are appointed for three year terms.

B. PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS COMMITTEE

It shall be the duty of the Committee to hear and determine all matter involving a charge made of unethical conduct on the part of any member of the Association, or involving a business dispute between members of the Association, in accordance with Article VII of the Bylaws. This Committee shall consist of at least three persons of whom at least the majority shall be active members who are principals in their business. Members are appointed for three year terms.

II. EDUCATION DIVISION: Reporting Director, Nancy Quigg

A. EDUCATION DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE/TASK FORCE

The Education Development Committee shall create and adopt courses that will assist new applicants for real estate salesmen and brokers licenses in New York State. The Committee shall also create and adopt courses that will assist REALTOR® Associates and others in continuing education, which shall be required for broker and salesman license renewals. The Committee shall be operating under the supervision of the Greater Syracuse Association of REALTORS® Board of Directors. The Committee shall also provide an orientation program to make members aware of Association services and member responsibilities. To offer a variety of programs on diverse topics that meets the needs of all members, as well as encourage and develop regional participation in GSAR courses and seminars and to encourage cooperative ventures with other large Boards/Associations. This Committee/Task Force will meet on an as-needed-basis.

V. OPERATIONS: Reporting Director, Jeff Roney

A. FINANCE COMMITTEE

It shall be the duty of this Committee to prepare and recommend the budget and oversee its execution through periodic status reviews, to make recommendations on savings and investments, tax matters, dues, schedules for consultations, and recommendations when a large not budgeted expenditure is being considered. The Committee shall consist of the past two Treasurers, the previous year’s President, two members chosen by the President, Comptroller, Executive Vice President, and President Elect. The President is on the committee as Ex officio.

B. EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

It shall be the duty of this Committee to review and consider matters of policy and appropriation of funds for all officers, directors, and committee chairpersons. It shall investigate, formulate opinions and make recommendations to the Board of Directors. This Committee shall work closely with the Chief Executive Officer and be responsible for the current Board operations and its long-range plans and goals.

C. LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT & NOMINATIONS COMMITTEE

The nominating committee shall be made up of 5, appointed by the President, with the approval of the Board of Directors, composed of two of the last 5 Presidents, and 3 Directors who are not officers of the Board.

D. STRATEGIC PLANNING COMMITTEE

A. LEGISLATIVE COMMITTEE

A function of the Government Affairs Committee to establish a political survival fund for NAR, NYSAR. Review the latest guidelines from NAR and NYSAR. Establish the necessary Board(s) of Trustees required for PAF. Improve contributions for PAF needs. Establish proper structures. To communicate/educate members on the legislative process and political issues at local, state and national levels. To represent the interest of REALTORS® in village, town, city and county government concerns. To improve participation in NYSAR and NAR government affairs committees and Calls to Action. To have a REALTOR® Active in Politics Program.
